Kenwood designed the KDC-MP242 CD receiver to be a no-nonsense, solid performer with lots of options for expansion. Right out of the box, you can play all your store-bought and recordable CDs, plus discs you've loaded with MP3 and WMA files. And you can play a portable satellite radio, MP3 player, or other source through the handy, front-panel auxiliary input.

Adding on
No matter how you get your music and entertainment, you can add its functionality to the KDC-MP242. Kenwood's iPod® adapter lets you connect and control your iPod, and keep it charged as you drive. You can add an HD Radio™ tuner for the enhanced sound quality of digital radio, or hook up a Kenwood satellite radio tuner for cool programming and commercial-free music. Connect a multi-disc CD changer, or add the hands-free convenience of Bluetooth® — it's up to you.

Great sound — music to your ears
Kenwood's strong internal amplifier pumps out your tunes — rendered beautifully by the premium digital-to-analog converter. Kenwood's System Q 3-band equalizer and improved bass boost let you dial in just the right sound for your vehicle. Two sets of preamp outputs let you add amps and subs, and you can activate a low-pass filter and sub level control for fingertip control over your bass.
